Last Updated: September 30, 2026
Kawkaw, Inc. (“Kawkaw,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use websites, mobile applications, communications, and other services that we operate, including services associated with Kawkaw and #Open (collectively, the “Services”).
This Policy applies only to Services operated by Kawkaw. Third-party websites, applications, and services may have their own privacy practices.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should not use the Services.
1. Age Requirements
The Services are intended only for people who are at least 18 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Services.

Some of this information may be considered sensitive personal information under applicable law. You choose whether to provide optional profile information, although some information may be necessary to use particular features.
Location information
Certain features rely on location.
Depending on the feature and the permissions you grant, we may process precise or approximate location, travel locations, or location information derived from your device or information you enter.
We may also use reduced-precision, fuzzed, or derived location information for discovery, matching, safety, or privacy purposes.
Identity and safety information
Where identity, age, fraud-prevention, or safety-verification features are offered, we or our service providers may process information needed to perform those checks.
Depending on the verification method, this may include identity information, verification results, photographs, or face/liveness information.
We may also process reports, blocks, moderation actions, safety signals, and information associated with enforcing our rules and protecting users.
Communications and social interactions
We may process information relating to your interactions with other users, including connections, invitations, matches, Circles, Crews, Plans, chats, participation status, blocks, and reports.
Some relationship information is intentionally private. For example, features such as My Circle membership and personal mini-Circle organization may be treated as private organizational information rather than public social proof.
If you participate in a shared or partnered profile, other authorized controllers of that profile may be able to access or act on information associated with the shared profile.

Where enabled, photographs, text, or other content may be processed using automated tools to assist with moderation, classification, safety, or fraud prevention.
4. How Information Is Shared
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances.
With other users
Information you choose to make visible through your profile or through a particular feature may be shown to other users.
When you join chats, Crews, Plans, connections, or other shared experiences, relevant information may be visible to the people participating in those experiences.
We do not treat every relationship or organizational feature as public. Visibility depends on the design and privacy rules of the relevant feature.
With service providers
We use service providers to help operate the Services. Depending on the features used, these providers may support functions such as:
- hosting and cloud infrastructure;
- real-time messaging;
- SMS and phone verification;
- push notifications;
- media storage and processing;
- content moderation;
- identity verification;
- maps, places, and geocoding;
- analytics and performance monitoring;
- crash reporting and debugging;
- payments and subscriptions; and
- fraud prevention and security.
These providers may process personal information on our behalf or as otherwise described in their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
App stores and payment providers
Payments may be processed by Apple, Google, payment processors, wallet providers, or other payment services.
Kawkaw may receive transaction identifiers, purchase status, subscription status, or similar information. Payment providers may process payment credentials directly, and we do not necessarily receive or store complete payment-card information.
Legal, safety, and compliance reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
- protect the rights, property, or safety of Kawkaw, our users, or others;
- investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our policies;
- enforce agreements or legal rights; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business transfers
If Kawkaw is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
With your direction or consent
We may disclose information when you ask us to, direct us to, or otherwise consent.
5. Mobile Numbers, SMS, and Messaging Consent
Kawkaw may use your phone number for account verification, security codes, account-related communications, notifications, invitations requested by users, and other communications you specifically consent to receive.
We do not sell or share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in information, or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
We may provide mobile information to service providers, telecommunications providers, carriers, and other vendors when necessary to deliver messages, operate the Services, prevent fraud, or comply with law. Those disclosures are not permission for those parties to use your SMS consent for their own marketing.
For SMS programs that you opt into:
- message frequency may vary;
- message and data rates may apply;
- reply STOP to opt out of applicable recurring messages; and
- reply HELP for help, or contact [email protected].
Some security or verification messages may be one-time transactional messages associated with an action you request.
Your consent to receive one type of message does not automatically constitute consent to unrelated marketing communications.
6. Profile Visibility and Privacy
The Services contain both public or user-visible information and private information.
Information you choose to display on a profile may be visible to other users according to the relevant visibility settings and product features.
Other information—including some matching inputs, safety criteria, relationship organization, private Circles or lists, and internal eligibility decisions—is not necessarily visible to other users.
Kawkaw may intentionally avoid disclosing why another user was or was not shown, matched, eligible, available, invited, blocked, or excluded when doing so could reveal private or safety-related information.
7. Analytics, Diagnostics, and Improvement
We may use analytics, crash-reporting, performance-monitoring, logging, and diagnostic services to understand how the Services are used and to identify errors or performance problems.
Where session-replay or similar diagnostic tools are enabled, information about interactions with the application may be recorded for troubleshooting and product improvement.
We do not intend these tools to authorize third parties to use your personal information for their own unrelated marketing purposes.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating the Services, maintaining safety and security, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud or abuse, and enforcing agreements.
Different types of information may have different retention periods.
Some temporary operational records have shorter lifecycles, while account, transaction, safety, moderation, communication, or archival records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary.
Deleting an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of every record. We may retain information where required or permitted for legal, safety, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, backup, archival, or other legitimate purposes.
Where appropriate, we may de-identify information rather than retain it in identifiable form.
9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may be able to review or change certain information through the Services.
You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by contacting:
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information, which may include rights to:
- access or obtain a copy of information;

- appeal certain decisions relating to a privacy request.
These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.
However, no method of transmission, storage, or security is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device, account, verification codes, and other credentials.
11. International Users
Kawkaw is based in the United States.
If you access the Services from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Kawkaw or its service providers operate.
Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, venues, payment services, maps, or other services.
Kawkaw does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties. Their privacy policies govern information they collect independently.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Where required by law or appropriate because of the significance of a change, we may provide additional notice through the Services, by email, or through another reasonable method.
